Well I happened to watch the latest episode of the Bachelor on TV last night and was pretty shocked by what I witness, as Juan Pablo (Galavis Guinard) wined and dined almost half a dozen women seeking his affection and proposal for marriage.
Juan Pablo, for those who don’t know is the American born Venezuelan former professional Soccer player (now “retired”) who has at least one child out of wedlock with Venezuelan actress Carla Rodriguez – is seeking to marry a new baby momma.
He was shown winning and dining the ladies in the Peoples Republic of China – of all places. A country that has an abysmal human rights record. According to Amnesty International throughout the 1990s more people were executed or sentenced to death in China than in the rest of the world put together.
Sadly Pablo and ABC doesn’t give a damn about that.
Meanwhile Pablo was clearly toying with some of the ladies emotions, as well sending a lot of mixed messages to the girls.
At one point he was shown making out and flirting with some girls, and openly spurned another who asked for a kiss?
It’s was hard to watch as the girl in that particular case (LAUREN s.) who was later given the boot – cry tears because she was spurned in such a way. She was also perhaps the sweetest of the group, in my opinion – now has to go home packing her expensive gifts and whatever other considerations they gave her for appearing on the show.
Its hard to imagine a worse display of callousness and disregard for someones emotions, as what Pablo done to this girl.
Juan Pablo, undaunted continued to flirt with the other ladies who he hand selected to get “roses.” Many of whom are now emotional attached to him and must realize that only one gets the prize – if you can call him that?
Also acting badly in all this were some of the ladies – some of whom are clearly jealous and frustrated over Juan Pablo’s playing the field so to speak. To bad this isn’t Saudi Arabia where he could just marry them all – since he clearly can’t seem to make up his mind who exactly he wants.
I wonder however if some of these girls would be fawning over him like this if he wasn’t a super celebrity and filthy rich?
But I suppose that is what makes the TV show so interesting. The Bachelor, from what I understand is currently one of the highest rated TV shows in the country right now (source: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/01/07/the-bachelor-juan-pablo/).
As for me I will flip the channel next time because its too hard to watch some of these rather sweet, naive girls get hurt by Pablo as he tries in vain it would seem to make up his mind who he wants to wife next.
