Julio Castillo, 21, a pitcher for the single-A Peoria Chiefs, was arrested after he injured a fan during an on-field brawl with the Dayton Dragons.
After an argument between coaches escalated into a bench clearing fight, Julio Castillo threw a fastball towards the Dayton Dragons dugout. He missed his target and hit a fan in the stands. The fan was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Julio Castillo will be arraigned in court Friday for charges of felonious assault. 15 players were ejected in the melee that lasted 10 minutes. At game’s end, The Dayton Dragons beat the Peoria Chiefs 6-5.
