On Friday, Delhi court in Saket sentenced the four convicts in the gang rape case of Dec 16, 2012 to death. The judgement was hailed by all including the victim`s mother.
The mother of the 23-year-old deceased physiotherapist said she is very satisfied with the judgment and finally at peace.
She said”If they appeal in the high court, we will fight back. We are prepared for a very long battle to get justice,”
The victim’s brother said the four accused “got what they deserved”.
The father of the victim thanked the investigating officer of the case with folded hands and tears rolling down his cheeks .
The brave heart was brutally gang raped on a moving bus by six people, including a juvenile. The accused then threw the girl and her male friend out of the vehicle on the cold December night—completely naked.
The physiotherapy intern died of serious intestinal injuries in Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital on Dec 29, 2012 where she had been airlifted for treatment.
One of the six accused committed suicide in prison and other being Juvenile was remanded by the Juvenile Justice Board in remand home for three years .
