Kalash community celebrated death of Kalash woman.
CHITRAL: The most rare generation of the world Kalsh community have some different customaries, cultures, religious and social practices. Opponent to Muslim community who mourn their dead Kalash people celebrate festively on the death of Kalash people they celebrate three days on the death of a male person and one day on female death. Similarly they slaughter 50 to 100 goats on male death, with 5 tins of butter, curd, milk, etc and 20 to 50 goats on death of female with less number of particulars presenting to guests on occasion of death of female member. Kalash community recently celebrated death festival of a Kalash lady who had been married to a Japan man. Rahina of Rumbor village (Kalash valley who had married with a Japani boy was ill for the last one month and lastly she died. Rahina was married with Mr. Mosomo of Japan in a love marriage which was held in December 2009. This was first love marriage of a Japan boy and Kalash girl. She fell ill soon after her marriage and was under treatment in different hospitals of Peshawar and Islamabad but she succumbed to her illness and expired after one month. Her dead body was rushed to her native town Rubmoor and people of Kalash community were invited from three valleys (Rumboor, Bumborate, Birir) to celebrate her death function. Traditional food would be presented to the guests on this occasion and people approaching the valley on a large scale from three valleys.
