The growing tensions between two rival groups in Karachi has taken its toll in last 2 days when more than 29 people were killed and dozens of vehicles were set on fire.
Mottahida Quomi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) had been exchanging hot words for last 2 weeks with few incidents of killings also.
Yesterday the scene was panic and fear all over Karachi. The clashes started in Ajmair Nagri, a suburb where 3 persons were killed including 2 workers of Mohattehda Quomi Movement (MQM).
The news of clashes spread like a fire to other areas also and resulted in total chaos. Law enforcing agencies could not at all control the situation.
Worst affected areas were Bilal Colony, Shah Faisal, Abul Isfahani, Phar, Gulistan-e-Johar and Surjani Town where scores of people got injured in cross firing and clashes.
Through out the night law and order further worsened with a series of fire in shops and other places by miscreants.
President Zardari condemned and order for strict enforcing of law and order in affected areas.
