Kashmir: Bhaderwah Valley All Set to be Hot Tourist Spot

Set amidst snow-capped mountains, Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhaderwah valley will soon be on national tourism map with phase one infrastructure projects nearing completion.

The projects taken up under Tourist Destination Development Scheme and Circuit Development Scheme would be completed by next month.

Bhaderwah valley will soon emerge as a major tourism hub in the state. The first phase infrastructure projects would be completed by the end of next month, Divisional Commissioner Jammu province, Sudhanshu Panday said today.

In a meeting, he asked the officials of Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) to prepare a management plan for the assets created under the twin schemes and rope in private parties for tourism development.

Two resorts at Khellani-Kellar and Jai with igloo-shaped hutments, first time in the state, were set up. Besides, a model herbal garden was developed at Drudhoo-Bhaderwah.

Another herbal garden would come up at Chabra Kotli, assisted by National Medicinal Board while a herbal treatment centre would be set up at TRC Amiranagar. A kids pool and boat club were also on the list.
