Srinagar, June 11 (Scoop News) – Arrangements with regard to Shri Amaranth Ji yatra , commencing from June 29,2011,where finalized at a high level meeting of Civil, Police, Army, CRPF Officers held at Baltal ,Sonamarg today. The meeting was presided over by Divisional Commissioner, Dr.Asgar Samoon.
It was revealed in the meeting that as many as 2.50 lakh yatries have registered themselves through Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches across the Country. All the facilities like PHE, Power, Roads, medicare, firewood, weather reports, fire and emergency Services etc are in place.
The Divisional Commissioner was informed that a joint control room has been set up at Baltal to coordinate with other departments to ensure hassle free ensuing yatra.It was also told that ration and firewood besides other essentials would be stocked soon for the facility of yatries while Langars would also be set up in due course of time.
The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Showkat Mir apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the arrangements made by the departments of Health, Town Area Committee, PHE,R&B, Power, CAPD etc.
The Divisional Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made, however, stressed for maintaining close coordination to ensure smooth yatra.
Meanwhile the Transport department has fixed the fare of mini buses, taxies and maxi-cabs for transportation of passengers from Nunwan to Chandanwari and Sonamarg to Baltal in view of ensuing Amarnath Ji Yatra-2011.
According to order issued by Transport Commissioner, the fare of mini buses from Nunwan to Chandanwari will be Rs. 68 per passenger per trip. The fare of Taxi (Petrol) from Nunwan to Chandanwari and from Sonamarg to Baltal has been fixed Rs. 154 per passenger per trip. Besides, the fare of Tata Sumo (diesel) from Nunwan to Chandanwari and from Sonamarg to Baltal has fixed Rs. 75 per passenger per trip.
The enforcement agencies of MVD and Traffic department have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the fare fixed by the government during Yatra period.
