Kashmir Chief, other volunteers donate blood

Srinagar, June 14 (Scoop News) –On the eve of World Blood Donation Day, a blood donation camp was organised here today by the Jammu and Kashmir, Red Cros Society, Regional Office Srinagar in collaboration with NGO’s and Lal Ded Hospital. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar, Samoon who was the chief guest, inaugurated the blood donation camp.

            On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner including about 50 volunteers donated their blood at the camp.

            While highlighting the achievements of Red Cross Society, Secretary Red Cross Society, Regional Officer, Srinagar briefed the Divisional Commissioner that the society has collected 1800 blood points in valley during the last year and 845 volunteers have registered their names in the Red Cross Society. He said that 425 points of blood have also been collected by the society upto April 2012. He said that police, CRPF, Army and school children are with society in donating blood voluntarily.

            The Divisional Commissioner, on the occasion said that the basic aim and objective of donating blood voluntary is to save precious lives without any cast, creed and colour especially at emergency times. He asked the common people particularly youth to come forward and cooperate with the society whole heartedly.

            On this occasion, the Secretary Red Cross Society, Treasurer and WHO Chairman J&K were also present.
