Srinagar, May 9 (Scoop News) – On the fourth leg of the recently launched two-month long Kashmir Folk Festival, prominent folk artists of Kashmir enthralled people in large numbers at the famous Chinar Bagh here Thursday evening.
The Festival, organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in association with the Department of Tourism has so far traversed several tourist destinations of Kashmir including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Zabarwan Park and Kokernag. The inaugural programme was held at Pahalgam on May 4.
During the Festival culminating on July 9, as many as 56 events will be held at seven places including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Verinag, Kokernag, Achhabal, Zabarwan Park and Chinar Bagh. At these venues folk artists of the valley will stage traditional folk and music performances like Bhand Paether, Dhambali and Chhakri on different week days.
Today’s programme at Chinar Bagh had performances by Abdul Rashid Hafiz, Ghulam Rasool Ahanger, National Bhand Theatre, Wathura and Alamdar Dhambali Club Tregam, Budgam. The programme drew a large gathering comprising locals and tourists.
