Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan Friday said Kashmir dispute should be resolved according to aspirations of the people. Addressing a two-day peace conference, he said a permanent and practicable resolution of the dispute was only possible through negotiations.
The talks can only be successful if Kashmiris are included in the process of negotiations, he added.
He said if a solution is imposed on the Kashmiris it will neither be acceptable to them nor peace can be guaranteed in the world.
Sardar Attique said Kashmir and Palestine were burning issues and in order to find a solution to these crises confidence building measures should be taken.
He welcomed the peace conference on Palestine arranged by the United States.
He urged the United States to also show its interest in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
The Prime Minister called upon the participants of the conference to forge consensus while preparing a joint communique at the end of the deliberations.
He demanded of the Indian government to stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Peace in the region can only be ensured if Kashmir issue is resolved in a just manner, Sardar Attique said.
