Srinagar/Jammu, January 15 (Scoop News) – All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee today alleged that land attached with the historical shrine at Naran Nag situated in tehsil Kangan of Ganderbal district of Kashmir valley has been grabbed by the land mafia with active connivance of ASI, authorities J&K Circle Srinagar.
In a press statement, Arun Kandroo, General Secretary of All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee, J&K has said that the authorities of Archeological Survey of India, New Delhi have conceded the points raised by the leaders of APMCC in a letter submitted to authorities on 13.12.2010 under RTI Act seeking information about the land status of Naran Nag historical shrine. This shrine built by King Lalitaditya thousand years of back.
He said that Director General, Archeological Survey of India, New Delhi had directed the Deputy Superintending ASI J&
K Circle, Srinagar to furnish information about the said shrine in a letter dated 27.12.2010. He further added that as per the direction given by DG, ASI, New Delhi, the Authorities of Archeological Survey of India, J&K Circle Srinagar in a letter No. 8/196/2011 /M/6679 dated 10th January2011 written to APMCC in response to the information sought regarding the shrine. The letter was written by Deputy Superintending CPIO, J&K Circle, Srinagar to APMCC in which it was accepted that the land attached with Naran Nag Shrine which was declared as a National Monument in the year of 1958, has been encroached by the four number of people and one Government agency namely PWD Department, J&K Government under the information provided the names of encroachers have been defined as such, HanifKalash, Rio. Naran Nag, Abdul Rashid Akram, Shaukat Ahmed Jaggal Sb. Ismail Jaggal, Rio. Naran Nag, Mohd. Dar Sb. Haji Gulam Rasool Dar, Rio. Nagbal, Ganderbal and the fifth was PWD Department J&K Government. Besides this the ASJ authorities, J&K Circle has admitted that to remove the encroachments they had sent number of times reminders to J&K Government for making demarcation of land attached with Naran Nag Shrine.
However, APMCC leader said that in order to save the historical shrine of Naran Nag from the clutches of land mafia, the party leaders at its own have already initiated to take this issue to the highest forum of the country i.e. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and added that we are in the process of approaching to the maximum strength of the MPs from the various corners of the country in order to get the justice.
Besides, the APMCC has also raised fingers on the role played by the authorities of ASI, J&K Circle Srinagar under whom the very nose of encroachers have encroached the land while the staff of ASI, JK Circle remained their on duty for 24 hours.
The APMCC leaders said that they will request the leaders of highest forum of the country i.e. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to raise the matter of encroachment of the lands attached with various temple of Kashmir valley and pray them to pressurise ihe State Government for the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrine Bill which is pending in the State Assembly for the last two Assembly sessions.
