Srinagar, May 27 (Scoop News) –Continuing with the Disaster Management training at GHS Panthachowk the student trainees got an opportunity today to interact with various Luminaries including Superintendent of Police (City) West, Dr. Sunil Kumar, IPS, International Football Coach, Marcos and RJ Haya of Big 92.7 FM. The speakers encouraged the trainees to plan for their future and utilise the Disaster Managememt skills for betterment of their future.
The speakers implored the trainees to take all necessary steps to help the needy in times of need. S.P. West suggested that students should to take up classes for coaching classes of their juniors, so that they can economically support themselves. The students were pleased to meet R.J. Haya who interacted with the trainees alongwith Naureen Singh and Ishtiaq from Big 92.7 and shared her experiences and encouraged the students to plan for their future.
Footbal coach Marcos introduced Musadiq Mehraj a local youth from Dalgate, who is the first person from India to be selected in the Footbal team of Brazil. Musadiq’s father is working as tailor, but due to proficiency of Musadiq in Football he was selected for Brazil. Mohammed Sharief of Save the Children also interacted with the students and assured to provide them further training in Disaster Risk Reduction.
Dy. Director Youth Services & Sports s Neelofar Amin arranged expert trainers Muzaffar Tramboo and Ali Mohammed from Bharat Scouts Organisation who sensitised the children about Scouts and Girl Guides. The students and teachers who completed the six day training programme hail from poor socio-economic background and most of the parents are labourers, or working as mechanics or drivers.
The students undergoing teh training are exceptionally intelligent. A valedictory function and mock drill will be held has been arranged which will be presided over by Div Com Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, at the conclusion of the programme.
