Raman Bhalla was addressing a gathering assembled at Hotel Asia to pay tributes and homage to Late Shri Manohar Nath Kaul (Mankak) Ex-Minister on his 10th death anniversary. Prominent among those who paid tributes to the late leader include Minister for Education and Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Minister for Medical Education Mr R.S.Chib and Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma and a large number of social personalities from Kashmiri community were present on the occasion.
While praising the secular and national character of Shri Manohar Nath Kaul, Revenue Minister made mention of the Govt. schemes being implemented for welfare of the migrants. He informed that already employment has been given under Prime Minister’s package and further 900 vacancies are being filled shortly after these posts were de-reserved. Referring to the rehabilitation package, Mr Bhalla informed that the government was exploring the possibility of establishing clusters in
Mr Mangat Ram Sharma, Peerzada Mohd Syed and Mr R.S.Chib recalled the contribution of Shri Mankak during his political life for up-liftment of poor people and development of the State.
Sharing his experience, Peerzada Mohd Syed said “Whenever we visit any area of his constituency people still remember him despite twenty years of migration”. He appealed to the people to follow the path of secularism to maintain brother-hood and harmony at all cost.
They also mentioned that very soon Kashmiri Pandits will return to valley and stay there as they were living before migration.
Mr R.S.Chib, while paying tributes to Mankak for his secular character and simplicity mentioned about the
Mankak Charitable Trust, which is being run by the family of Shri Mankak announced a scholarship for fifty nine children for the year 2012 and also made an announcement for providing of two Tread mills to Gym which has been established by the youth at Jagti. An amount of Rs.30000/- were paid to them for purchase of sports goods.
Mankak Trust also honoured three persons from different walks of life for their contribution in various fields. Shri Omar Nath Shastri, who is a religious scholar and known figure among Kashmiri Pandit Community was honoured with Shawl and Trophy by Mr Raman Bhalla .
Mr Said-Ualh Bhat was also honoured with Shawl and Trophy for his longest association with Mankak and for spreading massage of secularism in the area.
Sham Jee Kaul, a renowned journalist was also honoured with Shawl and Trophy for his role in journalism. Due to his ill health his representative received the Shawl and Trophy on his behalf.
