Despite the fact that Kashmir is no issue and if happens to be it is between India and Pakistan. Kashmiris, especially, so called well wishers of common masses, hurriyat elements would like to keep a close eye over the developments occurring in New York. Then, obviously, they would start a campaign type programme either in favor of India or against it. Depending in the vested interest of their business ventures which they have opened over the communal basis two and half decade ago.
With the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session the focus will once again shift to Kashmir in the coming days. In the absence of any formal parleys between heads of the two neighboring countries of India and Pakistan the Pakistani leaders are expected to once again rake up the issue of Kashmir to put Indian delegation on the back foot.
On the other hand the Indian delegation is focusing all its energies on making last minute preparations for the maiden visit of Modi to US where is scheduled to address the UNGA in Hindi and attend series of events to drum up support. Meanwhile, in the wake of five day long stay of Modi in US the security grid has been tightened across the state of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure infiltration bids are foiled from across the line of control. In the last three weeks more than 10 infiltrators were gunned down by the armed forces in North Kashmir’s Kupwara sector. Several Infiltration bids were also foiled by the army in the same sector amid reports of presence of more than 200 trained militants across different launching pads in POK.
