Kashmir University organizes seminar on Shiek-ul -Aalam

 Srinagar, February 09 (Scoop News) – Again asserting  that Sheikul Alam (RA)  is the reference point  in all aspects of our life  Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Riyaz Punjab today called upon intellectuals and thinkers to strengthen the institutions in Kashmir , look forward and find strength in the message of Shiek-ul –Aalam  the spiritual leader  of Kashmir .

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Riyaz Punjabi was delivering his presidential address at a seminar  on the theme “ Text of Kalami  Sheik-Ul –Aalam “organized  by Markaz-i Noor, Shaikh-ul Alam Chair university of Kashmir in collaboration with Radio Kashmir  Srinagar .

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon  was the chief guest at the event organized in the auditorium of the Radio kashmir Srinagar and attended by a  large number of people including reputed writers, intellectuals, poets  and members of the civil society.

Prof. Riyaz Punjabi in his presidential address said that we cannot afford to loose Sheikul Aalam for our new generation and it , he said is our prime duty to make the message of Sheik (RA)available to them.  . Sheikul Aalams poetry  said VC has to be studied  at two levels  one  at the intellectual domain and  the other the  public domain and  for studying both the levels   VC stressed on the need for using  scientific parameters .

Earlier noted historian Prof Mohammad  Ashraf  in his thought provoking research paper entitled  “ In search of an authentic text of Shaikul Alams poetry  “ said  that while authenticating the text of Shaik it is necessary  that facts are separated from fiction and beginning is made to prepare and authentic  text of the poetry of Sheik by employing the knew linguistic, literary and historical criticism. He also stressed the need for interdisciplinary approach to accomplish the task.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon looked forward to a close coordination with Kashmir University  to work on various facets of Sheiks life and poetry and he as well looked forward  to  the preparation of a comprehensive and authentic website  on the life and works of Sheikul  Aalam.

While discussing the different facets of the multidimensional personality of Shaikh-ul Alam and his  contribution to Kashmir society Director Markazi Noor , Kashmir University, Prof.  Bashaer Bashir Said   that he is quite keen to see that the Chair flourishes  by way of  producing standard research works on Shaikh-ul Alam   which could attract and satisfy the intelligentsia and also popularize the message of Alamdar-iKashmir among the common masses.

Seminar Coordinator ,Dr Aziz Hajni ,from  Markazi Noor Sheikul Alam Chair  said that Markazi Noor has taken up several projects which will be accomplaished soon. . Dr Hajni who is also the coordinator of the seminars  at the Markazi Noor was all praise for the participants of the symposium for what he termed as their brilliant presentations. Dr aziz also conducted the proceedings of the programme which will be broadcast on radio  Kashmir soon.

Director Radio Kashmir , Rukhsana Jabeen presented vote of thanks and said that his institution would beging to broadcast  several novel programmes which will popularize the message of Sheik (RA)

Noted poet  Prof Rehman Rahi, Prof Margoob Banhali, Ajaz Ahmad kakroo,Prof Shad Ramzan,Prof.  A R Var, Dr Syed Iftikhar ,Shamim Rizvi and Asadullah AAfaqi  also  spoke on the theme.
