Kashmiri intellectuals,Writers & Kashmiri literature

Srinagar,March 22 (Scoop News) -A two days National Seminar was today held at S.P. College, Srinagar by Sahitya Academy, New Delhi on the famous Kashmiri Poet ,Late Mirza Ghulam Hassan Arif Baig and his contribution for the development of the Kashmiri language.

Chief Guest, Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik, while highlighting the importance of Kashmiri language said that Kashmir University has an important role to play for preservation and promotion of Kashmiri language.  Malik further said that the Kashmiri intellectuals and lovers of Kashmiri literature has to contribute a lot for the development of this language of the World Paradise Kashmir Valley. He suggested of conducting more and more such conferences and Seminars on National and International levels on the Kashmiri language. On this occasion a number of Poets, luminaries representing the Kashmir Valley and  various parts of Country like Prof. Rehman Rahi, Convener of the Kashmiri Advisory Board, Dr. Aziz Hajni,  Ghulam Nabi Khayal, Prof. Soom Nath Bhat Veer, Pran Kishore, Ghulam Nabi Aatish,  Farooq Nazki  also paid glorious tributes to the Late Arif Baig.

Dr. Hajni while sheding light on the contribution of the Late Arif Baig, said that the aim of the seminar is to highlight the contribution of the great literary icon of Kashmiri language. The Program Officers of Sahitya Academy Mushtaq Sadaf on the occasion said that as compared to other languages much work has been done for Kashmiri by Sahitya Academy and assured that in the future the Academy will whole heartedly extend its support for the promotion of this language.

The Principal of S.P College, Prof Zahor Ahmad Chat presented vote of thanks and said that our language has a rich cultural heritage and has the potential to face any cultural challenge.
