Srinagar, May 30 (Scoop News) –Reiterating the importance of Kashmiri language, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the government would take all the necessary steps for its preservation and propagation.
The Minister was speaking at a book release function organized by Adbi Markaz Kamraz (AMK) at Radio Kashmir Auditorium here today. Former Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, M. Y. Taing, MLA, Langate, Engineer Abdul Rashid, Deputy Director General, Radio, Bashir Arif, President AMK, Dr. Aziz Hajni and General Secretary, Dr. Shujat Bukhari besides scores of intellectuals and writers were present on the occasion.
Sagar said that the government has already ensured that the Kashmiri language is being taught at the elementary level in different schools across the state and necessary steps would also be taken so that it is taught at the higher levels as well.
He said that the Kashmiri language is one of the oldest living languages of the world and every care would be taken so that it is properly preserved and propagated among the youth. He said that we should understand the importance of one’s mother tongue as we can very easily express our ideas and thoughts besides communicating with the masses.
Former Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, M. Y. Taing while highlighting the importance of Kashmiri language said that it is one of the classical languages of the world and we should collectively work for its propagation and preservation.
MLA, Langate, Engineer Rashid also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the importance of one’s mother tongue.
The books released were ´Hum Sab Bachay’ written by Hasan Azar, ‘Maa Azmat kay Aaiyeenay Mein’ written by Syed Akhter Hussain and ‘Treesh-te-Sehrav’ written by Shahida Shabnam and stickers on Kashmiri language.
