Kashmiri migrants on hunger strike for past five days in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad, June 02, (Scoop News Monitoring Desk)- Expressing solidarity with Kashmiri migrants who are on hunger strike organized by Refugee Welfare Organization (RWO) outside the Press Club Muzaffarabad seeking redressal of their genuine problems faced by them.

RWO is a body of Kashmiri migrants who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) since 1990 to the capital city of the Pakistan administered state.

Hurriyat Conference spokesman on Tuesday said the Kashmiri migrants including men, women and children, are observing hunger strike for past five days to seek the attention of the authorities towards their day-to-day problems.

“These people want authorities to implement of the government decision about their quota in various sectors, a proper housing as well as problems on health and educational fronts”, he added.

The spokesman said these Kashmiri migrants had to leave their homes following hotting up of the situation in the border areas.

The spokesman hoped that government in Pakistan administered state Kashmir and Government of Pakistan would sympathetically look into the demands of these migrants and take steps soon to address the problems being faced by them.(Scoop News)
