September 26 (Vijay Kumar) -Recognising the sentiments and the potential that Kashyap Progressive Commerce and Commercial Foundation (KPCC) as a representative body has towards catalysing the development within the state of Jammu & Kashmir, J&K, Dy. CM Tara chand suggested that a cell be set up by KPCC to closely liaise with the state government, and that all help and support will be extended by the state government in their endeavours towards restoring the lost glory in the Jammu and Kashmir state.
Tara chand was speaking on the occasion of International economic summit held on sdaturday in New Delhi where some prominent displaced Kashmiri Pandit CEOs and top policy makers of J&K state got together to draw the road map for what they described as revival of economy in the strife torn J&K state.
According to statement that the Kashmiri origin CEOs interface with the government was organised at the first of its kind conclave organized by Kashyap Progressive Commerce & Commercial Foundation (KPCC) as part of its agenda to drive the economic reconstruction in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Vikas Rambal, CMD, Perdaman Chemicals & Fertilizers (Australia) has committed to partnering the state government for the setting up of a power generation unit to cater to the electricity demands in the state as a first step, a statement by the Kashyap Progressive Commerce & Commercial Foundation (KPCC), which organized the CEOs interface with the government, said in a statement.
Some of the key points raised at the summit were: The terrorism and unrest in the state was an aberration to the growth and the development of the state, and the same has been rejected by the populace in the state The development in the state will be driven by the youth of the state who are proud of their bearings, and who have the fire in their belly to re-build the lost glory of the state The only thing that the populace requires from the government is to create a conducive environment for business in the state, and the entrepreneurs will come forward, invest in the state, and along with the populace drive development and economy within the state.
Core competency of the region should be tapped for the overall growth and development – natural beauty, weather-environment-climatic conditions, potential of winter sports and tourism, natural flora and fauna, handicrafts & carpets, et all Focus on education and IT will drive increased participation of the younger generation in the reconstruction of the state. Need for greater recognition and acceptance of KPCC by both the J&K government as well as the Indian government as the representative body of the business community of the state and greater collaboration and support by the government to drive growth in the state.
The Summit was attended by a mix of entrepreneurs, policy-makers, industrialists, representatives from top MNCs, scholars, and progressive Kashmiris.
