Jammu, November 22(Scoop News)- United States based senior activist-leader and former President of Kashmir Overseas Association, Sanjay Kaul, said that the Kashmiri Pandit (KP) Diaspora in US is vibrant and conscious of its responsibilities towards Kashmir. The members of the Diaspora would continue to play a pro-active role in espousing the cause of the community in US.
Sanjay Kaul who is on a visit to Jammu was addressing the meeting of Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir today. The meeding was held under the chairmanship of Prof. M.L.Raina, Chairman, PAC. It was among others attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-PANUN KASHMIR, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, J.L.Kaul, Vice President, Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, Kamal Bagati, Organising Secretary, Vijay Qazi, N.M.Gadroo, Ramesh Kaul and Sameer Bhat. Sanjay Kaul, attended the meeting as a special guest.
Mr Kaul said that the KP community is proud that a member of its fraternity Neel Kashkari is running for the post of the Governor of California, a large and important state of the US. Mr Kaul was highly appreciative of the role played by Panun Kashmir and in particular the recent activities of the party in creating a renewed awareness about the machinations going on in Kashmir that could affect the community
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said that it seems that the Union government has decided to give primacy to the secessionist elements led by the Hurriyat to conduct the Kashmir affairs. Having allowed the anti-Indian Geelani to meet Sartaj Aziz of Pakistan and also let him free to unleash anti-India propaganda, anti-poll campaign should leave nobody in any doubt that the government has completely capitulated on the issue. The government’s decision to conduct parleys on Kashmir with the Hurriyat factions is being seen as buckling down before the anti-India elements in Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits completely reject all such moves and appeal to the government to settle the geo-political issues concerning Kashmiri Pandits and then go on to conduct its murky business on Kashmir. Kashmiri Hindus, the indigenous people of Kashmir, have the first and natural claim on the territory of Kashmir and there can be no bargaining on the issue without taking into consideration the rights of the Kashmiri Pandits.
Virender Raina in his speech said that the demand of Homeland with free flow of Indian constitution will pave the way for settling the most important issue of Kashmiri Pandit claim on the land of Kashmir. In this context, the visit of Shri Narendra Modi, is going to encourage and invigorate the nationalist forces in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Panun Kashmir has always been in the forefront of the struggle of the nationalist forces in the most important frontier state of the nation and would continue with its mission to strengthen the rightful cause of the nation. We appeal to the rank and file to carry the message of unity to the members of the society in this regard.
Earlier Sanjay Kaul was felicitated by the President of Panun Kashmir on the occasion in recognition of his services to the community.
