.

Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Presiden while addressing the gathering said that the observance of the day depicts the holocaust and the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir valley. The Kashmiri Pandits can never forget the horrors of the 19th January 1990 when they were subjected to terror aimed at their ethnic cleansing from the valley. The Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of genocide, the fact that has been acknowledged by the National Human Rights Commission. Despite the glaring observations and the decisions of the NHRC and the Apex human rights institutions about the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Pandits, the powers that be have all along been trying to put these hard facts under the carpet. Kashmiri Pandits have a rightful and natural claim on the territory of Kashmir and their Resettlement in Kashmir is a genuine political issue.  This issue can be addressed only by meeting out the geo-political aspirations of the seven lakh displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the light of the demand of homeland in Kashmir.

H.L.Chatta, on the occasion expressed satisfaction that the younger generations have been inspired by the observance of important historical days by the community during its exile. The generation next needs to take the battle for the reclamation of Homeland forward. Kashmiri Pandits have experienced seven exoduses and cannot be subjected to experimentation again for political expediency. Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of ‘human catastrophe’ and the issues involved cannot be brushed away by linking the day to day livelihood issues with the core sensitive issue of resettlement in Kashmir. The issue of encroachments of temples and shrines in Kashmir is a very serious issue and the government needs to take cognizance of the same.

D.N.Kissu,in his speech maintained that the holocaust day has provided strong evidence in the historical perspective to the future generations to carry the message forward.  Social cohesiveness in observing these important days provides strength to the rank and file of the community. He appealed to the members of the community to observe such important days together and in this context, the Joint forum has taken a strong initiative to create consensus among the Kashmiri Pandits.

Sunil Dimple demanded the international fora to declare the Pakistan a terrorist country for the infiltration, violation of cease fire frequent firing at the boarders, for adding and abetting terrorism in the India and has become the epicenter of terrorist training camp.

He said the Pakistan is responsible for the parliament attacks and the 26/11 Bombay Taj attacks and expressed complete solidarity with the victim’s families. He said the Victim families of the Parliament attack has not  have not yet got the Justice even after the 11 years have passed. He held UPA Govt responsible for this to deliver the Justice.
