           Srinagar, May 05 (Scoop News) –   Calling Kashmiri Pandits an important component of Kashmiriat. Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that there has been centuries old tradition of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony among various sections of society and our great leaders including Sher-i-Kashmir Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah always stood for Hindu Muslim unity and declared his slogans of Hindu, Muslim and Sikh unity in 1947.

Sagar was addressing a gathering at Babul Iqbal at Babdemb.   On the occasion he advised the Hurriat leadership to present their point of view before the central Government for settling the Kashmir Tangle. He said that the world has become a global village and every individual is cherishing peace and progress instead of wasting time and energy on futile exercise.

He said the speedy execution of large number of development projects in Srinagar City, shall get a new look shortly in respect of availability of Civic amenities.

. Sagr said new Zainakadal bridge will be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.30 Cr besides renovation of Zainakadal market is also on the anvil. He further said that the famous Tomb of Badshah at Zainakadal would be restored to its pristine glory.

            Lauding the role of young and dynamic Chief Minister, . Omar Abdullah for taking several positive initiatives soon after taking over the government was committed of holding Panchayat Elections in the state to decentralize the power at the grass root level. He said that strengthening of Panchayats would provide with access to common masses living in remote and far flung areas of the state and would facilitate them to decide independently their choice of execution of developmental schemes.

            The Minister said that 75% polling was recorded during the current Panchayat elections. He announced that police recruitment campaign would be taken up again after completing Panchayat elections so that unemployed youth are provided employment.

            The Minister further said that a comprehensive plan for artisans community is also on the anvil for the benefit of artisan community.

Earlier Sagar laid foundation stone of Rs 1.20 Cr project of proposed Entry Gate namely Babul Iqbal at Babdemb as a part of initiative being taken by the Government for restoring prestine glory of Shah-re-Khas of summer capital. The project would meet its completion on November this year. Besides, sufficient funds would be earmarked for renovation of adjacent areas of the entry gate.

He also interacting with a section of media persons on the occasion, the Minister said that several developmental projects are going apace beautification of Srinagar City. He said that Government is planning to reconstruct Zainakadal, renovate its old market, construction of cable car project at Makhdoom Sahib, repairs of Budshah Tomb, beautification of Jamia Masjid and also to take up projects like Naagar-Nagar.

            The function was among others attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar . Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Shiekh Mushtaq Ahmad, Vice Chairman LAWDA, . Irfan Yaseen and several senior civil and police officers.
