Meenakshi Sidha,Media Secretary , Kashmira Vahini said that Kashmira Vahini in its appraisal of Jammu Declaration 2010 where in the community concern about dwindling population was addressed. The declaration had appealed to the Kashmiri Pandit community to produce more than two children.

Meenakshi said, Preserving gene pool of community and increasing the population will be the major issues of debate and discussion in these workshops. Numerical fall in population has contributed to a situation where the community has been marginalized by the political class of the nation.

The Kashyap Bhandu Committee is the first who resolved to institute an annual Award of Motherhood for those mothers who have more than two children. The Award will consist of a “Certificate of Honour” and substantial cash amount. This resolution was passed unanimously in view of alarming decrease in population of the Kashmiri Pandits. The members felt greatly concerned when a UNO Report was presented before the members which show Kashmiri Pandit Community one of the vanishing communities of the world.
