What has this world come to with the level of parenting these days? I don’t have any children, but I would love to know why is Kathy Hilton all of a sudden trying to play the good samaritan mom role by telling people they should learn a thing or two on what not to do in terms of her daughter’s mistake. There’s reports coming out saying Paris is traumatized about going to jail…hmm that’s a hard thing since how can she be traumatized for 45 days county jail time? I can see it if she was going away for a few years, but she got 45 freaking days in the county slammer. Kathy’s whole I am a good mom bit was cut short when fellow mom and The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck commented that she needed to discipline her daughter instead of allowing the criminal justice system to do it for her. This is where a lot of parents make the mistake of allowing the law to discipline their kids. That statement was not only on time, but it was totally necessary since Paris has no idea that she got off easy because most people who did what she did were looking at 2-5 years in prison since driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence is a felony in many places. She got lucky barely by the skin of her panti-less wearing behind. She thinks that because she’s the heiress of the Hilton hotel fortune she can buy her way out of everything, that’s just like Elizabeth(Paige-to her family and friends) Laurie who’s the heiress to the Wal-Mart fortune who thought she could cheat her way through college until the university caught her and revoked her diploma after they found out she paid her ex roommate over a course of 3 years to write her papers, doing her class assignments and taking her tests and final exams. She was attending the Univerisity of Southern California.
Kathy Hilton’s appearance on the View
Laurie, had to surrender her diploma and was asked not to return to school there. You don’t even hear this girl’s parents stepping up and publicly saying that their daughter will be held accountable for her actions and that this should be a reminder to those who want to pull stunts like this that it will cost you your reputation and academic career. This is the level of pathetic parenting that makes many parents furious because what are these mothers of these two girls thinking that you got all this money, but you can’t discipline your children? Just because Paris and Paige are born into wealthy families doesn’t excuse them from trying to buy their way out of things because they honestly believed they could get away with it. Paige was actually seen on tape the night before she had an exam out partying with her friends and her then roommate verified that she was back at the dorm working on a paper for her and she paid her a couple hundred dollars. In total according to what the roommate said during an interview that she got upwards of like $10,000 over a course of 3 years so the only legit year Paige actually went to school was freshman year the other 3 was when she cheated her way through school. When the Lauries was requested to make a statement they declined to do so which says they’re not really acting responsible by making their daughter address a statement publicly of her mistake and make her take responsibility for what she did and to say that cheating is wrong and it violates all levels of academic integrity.
As far as Paris’ mother is concerned she’s a trip because the minute her daughter cuts up majorly by driving under the influence and on a suspended license from that she’s now acting like responsible mom…she’s not fooling anyone I bet the hired help over the years who worked for the Hilton family can say how Paris’ mother really was when she was growing up since I can picture Mama Hilton tossing her kids off on a nanny while she lunched with girlfriends and shopped until she dropped and trying to maintain the socialite image that she diligently passed down to that skanky daughter of hers. People are trying to petition the Governor to get Paris’ pardoned and if he did that what good is the legal system if we can’t punish those who break the law? There’s got to be some accountability for one’s actions and Paris’ mother getting told in a polite sense that her parenting skills sucked really bad and that she’s making herself look like a fool coming on national tv to talk about the situation with Paris going to jail. Well, let this be a wake up call to parents with children like this that you should have nipped that nonsense in the bud when they’re children because when they get grown this is what you get an immature, irresponsible adult who can’t even come to terms with the fact that the law was clear and still remains that if you break the law you are held accountable for your actions.
Paris will have a lot of time to think when she’s sitting in jail because maybe then she’ll make a sensible choice and start acting like she’s an adult not 26 going on 14. Kathy should have been like some parents who didn’t play that BS to let their child know that you want to clown then you accept the consequences of your actions. I think it would have been ideal for both Paris and Paige to be cut off from their trust funds until they can exercise some responsibility in how it’s spent and to make them get out and actually get jobs, live on a budget, live in a modest apartment nothing ritzy and to make them have low key everything and they’ll have some idea of how those who are struggling are really living. When you come into money too fast and too young in life you have very little appreciation to the hard work that went behind it. Sam Walton didn’t work as hard as he did to have his granddaughter to spend as fast as she’s getting it and Conrad Hilton worked too hard to have his tack headed great granddaughter spending it like it’s going out of style. Both Paris and Paige should have a modest monthly allowance next to what they earn from a job and that’s it they have to know how to budget and save since they don’t know how to spend wisely except on frivolous crap and not thinking about the fact that there are people and whole families that are one paycheck away from poverty and are struggling to keep food on the table and other luxuries while two spoiled ungrateful ingrates are flushing their family’s fortune down the toilet because they feel they can buy their way out of whatever mess they can get themselves into because they’re refusing to take responsibility for what they do.
You don’t see heirs like Athena Onassis Roussel blowing massive amounts of money she lives her life low key with her husband and isn’t looking to be in the spotlight. Others like members of the Rockefellers, Johnsons(of the Johnson and Johnson pharmacutical fortune), and the DuPonts aren’t putting their family name out there laced with scandals the way Paris has done to her family. Kathy should have put her daughter in check when that sex tape she made came out on the internet that her behavior was unacceptable and she waits until now when her daughter is going to jail for her to finally say something. What she needed to do was sit down with Paris’ daddy and decide to cut her access to her trust fund off until she’s able to prove she can stand on her own without parental help and start acting responsible. Maybe these parents who have all this money will learn that it doesn’t buy you class and respectability.
When do parents be held accountable for lack of discipling their children? It should be examined since too many parents allow poor behavior to supercede the fact that the world isn’t going to play games with these children who act like monsters. We look at public figures like Kathy Hilton, but what about the non celebrity parents you see allowing their kids to get away with unaccepable behavior. At some point it’s time to say enough already and it’s time to hold parents accountable for their children’s behavior. There’s a problem with society when we allow parents like Kathy and Richard Hilton to honestly believe that money can get you you out of things when it’s personal accountability. Paris is a 26 year old grown adult woman, she needs to be responsible for her actions.
If Paris had the sense God gave her when she was growing up meaning there were boundaries and limitations and being repramanded when necessary you wouldnt see her doing the things she’s doing right now. It seems as if Paris spent more time with hired help than with her parents since mom was too busy trying to maintain the socialite wife image and not being a mother to her children. Being a mom isnt a part time job, but a full time responsibility even long after your kids become adults.
