KDEO sustains Road upgrading
With the commitment of the current leadership of Engr. Alexander Castaňeda of the Kalinga Engineering District, the road leading from the Mt. Province boundary and traversing through Calanan up to Pinukpuk via the Abbut Road is presently being refurbished from gravel to paved condition.
Costing PhP 139,560,125.76, the project is a joint venture of stalwart names in the construction industry. Throw in the fact that DE Castaňeda is the Project Engineer himself, then it is no surprise that with its short-time implementation up to this date, there is already a 32% accomplishment.
The major works include embankment, grading works, farmworks and concreting of the road. When this is completed, the project will greatly contribute a lot to the commerce of the directly benefited areas – considering that there is always the perennial problem on bringing agricultural products out of the rural areas due to poor road conditions.
Likewise, the project will also invigorate the tourism industry in this part of the region – since the project cuts through different prospective destinations for tourists, especially along Upper Tabuk which boasts of many picnic groves.
Under the watch of DE Castaňeda, this project is another tangible evidence on the steadfast desire of the agency to physically transform the region.
