Kenya is one of the best places to spend your vacation. The country has a warm climate that is highly conducive for vacations. Here are Kenya’s top attractions:

 

Masai Mara

This is the home of the big five and is considered among the best parks in the world. Here you will witness the migration of millions of wildebeest that takes place annually from July to October that is now categorized as the 8th Wonder of the World. The wildebeest migrate between Masai Mara in Kenya to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. As the herds migrate, they have to cross the Mara River that is infested by huge crocodiles.

Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National park is famous for the huge flocks of flamingos that thrive in the alkaline waters of the shallow lake. Apart from the 1 million flamingoes, you will also interact with many species of birds, lions, hippos, giraffe and white rhino.

Amboseli

Amboseli is a well-known park that offers breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro that is just across the border from Kenya in Tanzania. You will also interact with the Masai, a nomadic community famed for their ability to co-exist with wildlife. Amboseli is also home to more than 60 species of mammals and over 350 species of birds.

Mt. Kenya

Mt. Kenya, the 2nd highest peak in Africa is among Kenya’s top attractions .Batian (5200 meters), the highest peak requires some technical climbing equipment and skills. If you do not possess great climbing skills and equipment, you can consider conquering Lenana (4985 meters).Mt. Kenya slopes are covered in moorland and forest which ultimately gives way to ice, rocks and snow. Mt. Kenya is also part of a larger reserve where you can interact with elephants, leopards, buffaloes and hippos.

Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National park is one of the most unique parks in the world. Basically it is the only park situated minutes from a capital city. The Park derives its name from Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. The park is highly accessible by road and air and features lions, monkeys, cheetahs, birds and a wide variety of insects. Apart from the main park it has an orphanage and an enclosed walk where animals live in their natural habitat.

Lake Turkana

Lake Turkana is among the Kenya’s top attractions that make holidaying in this country an experience of a lifetime. Here you will find a lunar landscape surrounding the lake that is just amazing. Apart from the awesome landscape, you will have a chance to see log-like Nile crocodiles that thrive in this desert lake.
