Meeting sources told UNB that Jamaat sought for 50 seats but BNP is willing to give 30. Negotiations will continue.
IOJ leader Abdul Latif Nezami said about 20 candidates of the group will file nomination papers tomorrow, subject to withdrawal by some after finalization of sharing seats by the alliance.
IOJ chairman Fazlul Haq Amini told reporters after meeting with Khaleda that they sought 13 seats, but was given three.
“I will stand from Brahmanbaria-2 while Mufti Mohammad Wakkas from Jessore-5 and Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury from Sunamganj-3, Amini said.
BJP leader Barrister Andaleve Rahman said his party will field 12 candidates who will file nomination papers tomorrow. Some of them may finally withdraw after decision by the alliance.
Khelafat Majlis leader Maulana Ishaque said they have sought for nine seats. “But we will be satisfied with four.”
BNP office secretary Rizvi Ahmed said list of BNP candidates will be available on Sunday. “But the candidates may be changed until the last date of withdrawal of candidature to accommodate the partners of the alliance.
