Srinagar,April 28 (Scoop News)- Jammu & Kashmir Khalsa Democratic Front (KDF) has extended its full support to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a PDP Spokesman said in a statement.
He said members of the Khalsa Democratic Front (KDF) under the leadership of J.B. Singh in a meeting have decided that they would cast their votes in favor of the PDP’s candidates in the parliamentary polls.
KDF leaders has said the ruling National Conference has always used minorities particularly Sikhs of the Valley as their vote bank and in return betrayed them. “KDF was inspired by the policies and programmes of the PDP.”
The Sikh leaders said NC has never been serious to resolve the issues, problems of Sikhs besides taking votes from them from last many decades. They said NC is directly or indirectly responsible for many ugly episodes in the state’s recent history which inflicted gravest injuries to the Sikhs of the Valley.
Welcoming the support of Khalsa Democratic Front (KDF) , PDP youth leader Dr Harbaksh Singh ( Shanti) said the PDP has always safeguarded the interests of the minorities and worked for their dignified and prosperous life. He said the party is committed to identify areas of special interest for the Sikh community and work on protecting its identity.
He said during its brief tenure the PDP had given proper political representation to the community by sending one of our members to the Rajya Sabha and inducted another into the council of ministers. By contrast he said the NC which had exploited all communities of the state restricted itself to raising slogans and arranging photo opportunities and did nothing for their welfare.
Another sikh leader Nanee Singh has also welcomed the decision of Khalsa Democratic front.
