KIDP held one Day seminar on Human Rights

Islam bestowed real rights and status to women folk 1400 years ago.

CHITRAL: Islam has bestowed right to women folk some 1400 years ago announced by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in his last sermon said speakers during a one day seminar on Human rights organized by Easy & Equitable Access to Justice program Women of Chitral a project of Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights (LAFH) in collaboration with Koh Integrated Development Program (KIDP) at his office Danin. Niaz A Nizai Advocate was chief guest on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Honorary Captain Noroz Khan. The program was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran read by Miss Nasreen.   Miss Nasreen briefed about aim and Objectives of the seminar as well as function of KIDP. She said that KIDP is a local support Organization working in a area of 72 SQ KM of 30 villages and 6250 house holds. The LSO concentrated on utilization of local and domestic resources and sustainable development of the area. Focusing on Health, Education, awareness and especially female education. There are some 7 female and 11 male organizations working with KIDP.

Niaz A Niazi Advocate president LAFH introduces his organization and highlighted human as well as women rights.  He said that women folk have equally rights to get education; in heir and property usually we exploit them and violate their rights.  He said women and children are very important component of our society and we can not ignore them. He said educating a daughter is not only educating a woman but a mother who further educate the whole family. He said Islam has bestowed rights to women folk some 1400 years ago. The participants comprising on men and women were divided in 3 groups giving them task to prepare presentation on Women, Children and human rights.

The participants during their presentation pointed out that women folk are often  neglecting in men dominating society. They also complained regarding lack of education facilities for female at Koh area as well as the area also deprived from other civic facilities.  The Speakers insisted to empower the women folk for sustainable development and durable uplift. The  seminar was concluded by praying words of Captain ® Noroz Khan. A large number of men and female participated the seminar.

Dead bodies of 3 deceased persons recovered from avalanches.

Dead bodies of 3 persons of Lawari Top avalanche victims recovered from snow at Lawari pass by Chitral police, local volunteers, FC and social workers. As per police report some 3 persons were died by sever cold weather and snowfall at the top of Lawari pass while they were on their way by feet from Dir to Chitral. As the only land route connecting Chitral to other parts of the country have been blocked due to heavy snowfall on 4^th April. The pedestals were compelled to travel by feet and cross snow bound Lawri pass. As a result they were hit by heavy avalanche and in grip of sever cool. As a result 3 of them were died on the spot while an other person injured. Those who were died at Lawari top were identified as Gul Nazar Son of Gul Ajab resident of Morder Mulkoh, Amanullah resident of Bumbagh Kosht and Wazir Alam son of Ajaib Khan Resident of Parkosup Mastuj while one Abu Bakar resident of Islamabad badly injured and become unconscious. Amanullah was employ in Tall Scouts and was coming to his home on holiday while Abu Bakar has married from Drosh and was coming to Drosh to the house of his father in law. Cops of Drosh and Ashriat Police Station reached on the spot and had recovered 1 dead body on Saturday Evening hence due to bad weather they could not recovered remaining 2 dead bodies. Which were recovered on Sunday and were rushed to their native villages where they will be laid to rest? Lawari Pass is usually known as Killer Mountain and thousands of People have been died in winter season while they were trying to cross this snow covered pass by feet. Hence Lawari Rail Tunnel is under construction and on completion of the tunnel communication problems of inhabitants of the area will be solved.
