Next week former President Roh Moo-hyun and his wife will be summoned by prosecutors as president admits that his wife received money from an indicted businessman at the center of a burgeoning bribery scandal.
President Roh stated that his wife Kwon Yang-suk received money from chairman of shoemaker Tae Kwang Industry Co., Park Yeon-cha, through his former secretary Chung Sang-moon to repay debts.
Prosecutors are expected to question the Rohs over the receipt of the money estimated at 1 billion won ($738,000). Prosecutors planning to seek a warrant to detain Chung soon on charges of receiving about 300 million won from Park between 2005 and 2006.
Chung Sang-moom was arrested on Tuesday.
