J&K/ New Delhi: Kundan Kashmiri National President (KPC) reacting to proposal of scraping of AFPSA in J&K stated that it is not advisable to scrap the Armed Force Special Power Act (AFSPA) in hurry until terrorist training camps in PoK are fully dismantled, home grown terrorists are fully curbed and infiltration is controlled from across the border. He said withdrawal of AFPSA would provide opportunity for terrorists, anti-national and destructive forces to re-group and strengthen in the state, particularly in the valley to pose the threat to unity and integrity of the state and country. At one hand it will embolden the separatist and destructive forces and at the other hand it will prove counterproductive for the state govt. as separatists and destructive forces of the state will get liberty to act as per their choice and nationalist forces of the state will get demoralized which would affect support and vote bank of the ruling alliance in the state and further vitiate the atmosphere.
Commenting over the appeasing policies of the Omar Abdullah Govt. towards separatists, Kundan Kashmiri said that this will no longer help neither NC led state govt. nor to present Central Govt. but it would be in the interest of country on the whole if the main stream organizations of the State like NC, PDP and others would work together to fight separatist forces and become part of solution of the Kashmir problem rather part of the problem in the state. Reiterating his demand for consolidated rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley with over-all empowerment under writ of Indian Constitution, Kundan Kashmiri said that this will be in the interest of nation as well as state and will solve the problem of Displaces KP’s who are in exile from the last 22 years. He further said meaningful rehabilitation/ settlement on the will and wish of the KP’s in the valley will also pave way for over all solution of Kashmir problem under the ambit of Indian Constitution.
Commenting on proposed enhancement of PM’s Package from Rupees seven lacs and fifty thousand to Rs. twenty lacs per family, Kundan Kashmiri stated that it is nothing but sweet poison and trap to the community to drive them back to valley at their previous locations where rehabilitation of KP families are not possible because of various reasons, in particular security, genuine economic rehabilitation as well as because of vast change in mood and temper of the common masses of the valley in particular youths towards displaced Kashmiri Pandits Community. He said Govt. in less bothered for KP’s welfare and meaningful rehabilitation but interested in get ride from the liability of KP’s being migrants. KPC chief appealed his community to be united to fight for their genuine demands and rights.
