Jammu, February 27 (Scoop News)- Kashmiri Pandits appreciate the concern shown by BJP National President Nitin Gadkare for the displaced people of Jammu & Kashmir state and particularly the Kashmiri Pandits.
This was stated by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir while talking to reporters in Jammu today. He said that Gadkare’s identification with the issues of concern of the Pandit community is noteworthy. At a time when the Kashmiri Pandit leadership disapproved the Indo-Pak talks, Surrender policy of the government and Justice Sagir Report on Centre-State relations, the BJP has come out openly on these issues and strengthened the cause of the nationalist forces in the Jammu and Kashmir state.
H.L.Chatta, General Secretary, ASKPC said that the Kashmiri Pandits would continue their fight for the just cause along with like minded people to uphold the national cause in this trouble torn state. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo had, earlier, met Nitin Gadkare at Nagpur during ‘Kashmiri Sankalp Yatra’ in December 2007 and apprised him about the situation of Kashmir and the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Earlier the Joint forum of Kashmiri Pandit organisations under the leadership of A.N.Vaishnavi met Nitin Gadkare, National President, BJP on Friday at Jammu . The delegation felicitated Gadkare on the occasion. The seven member delegation comprised A.N.Vaishnavi, President, ASKPC, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir, H.L.Chatta, General Secretary, ASKPC, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK, R.K.Raina, Senior Vice President, ASKPC, Smt. Vimla Chrungoo and Sudhir Dhar.
The statement said that the activists of the Joint Forum held a programme at Nagrota camp, Jammu . Gadkare was supposed to attend the programme at the camp. Due to cancellation of helicopter services from Sanji Chat at Vaishnao Devi ne on account of bad weather, the National President of BJP could not attend the programme. The leadership of the Forum was also invited to attend the public programme of Gadkare on 25th February 2010 at Parade-Jammu.
Vaishnavi expressed his thanks to Gadkare for his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir state and also for his favourable remarks in favour of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community. He expressed the hope that the BJP would continue to support the cause of the community at all levels as it has been doing in the past.
