New Delhi, July 30 (Scoop News)-The Kashmiri Pandit leadership today made a comprehensive and detailed presentation before the Parliamentary Standing committee (PSC) on Home affairs at Parliament Annexe, New Delhi. The presentation related particularly to the 137th Report of the Standing committee headed by Shri Venkahaih Naidu has the following M.Ps L.K.Advani, Navin Jindal, Rajiv Pratap Rudhi, Satish Chander Mishra, V.Matriyan and others as its members. The Home Secretary, Anil Goswami GOI and the senior state government officers were also present in the meeting including the Rev. secretary, Vinod Kaul, Robin Mehta and R.K.Pandita.
The leadership of the displaced community comprised Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-Panun Kashmir, H.L.Chatta, President-All state Kashmiri Pandit conference, Rakesh Kaul, President-Kashmiri Samiti Delhi, H.N.Jattu, president-AIKPC, Sardar Premsingh Raina, President-Kashmiri Sikh Displaced Forum and Virender Raina, Official spokesperson, Jt. Forum of KP organisations. Moti Kaul and shri T.N.Razdan also were present in the meeting.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his inaugural presentation based on the response to the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee made a scathing attack on the government. He dealt point by point all the issues raised in the Report of the committee and opined that the role of the government has been dismal. He expressed surprise that the recommendations made by the august Committee have not been shared with the leadership of the community till date. He thanked and lauded the Committee for the pain it has expressed in the report. He also advocated for a mechanism to monitor lthe implementation of the recommendations of the committee. He also presented a copy of the Report on Policy and Procedure for Return of Ex-Militants in J&K state to the chairman of the committee.
H.N.Jattu in his forceful presentation said that time is not ripe for return of the community to the valley. He mentioned the geo-political aspirations of the community with free flow of Indian constitution to be the hall mark of the judgment for return. He gave a detailed account of the security situation of the valley and narrated in detail the current thinking in respect of the community in the minds and utterances of the fundamentalist forces in the valley,
Rakesh Kaul, in his address made an emotional speech regarding the pitiable condition of the displaced community in the Jagti camp and also the sorry state of affairs of the displaced traders and teachers of Delhi. He in detail gave an account of the cultural genocide being perpetrated against the hapless community in Kashmir. He also gave an account of his recent fact-finding mission to Kashmir where he noticed that the names of many towns and historical placed have been changed into Islamic lexicon.
H.L.Chatta in his presentation lambasted the government for its failure to bring Temples Bill in the Legislature. He also said that the killers of the Kashmiri minorities are roaming free in the streets of Kashmir and government has not taken any action against them. He also said that up till date no commission of enquiry was set up to enquire into the reasons for the rise of fundamentalism and terrorism in the valley.
Sardar Prem Singh in his address that minority status should be given to all minorities in the Jammu and Kashmir state including Sikhs, He also advocated that the Sikh community has upheld nationalism in the Kashmir valley and the Sikh Forum supports Panun Kashmir.
Virender Raina raised the issue of non-implementation of the PM’s special employment package ……..
