Kulgam police busted a gang of bike lifters

 

 

Kulgam/Srinagar,December 21 (Scoop News) – In south Kashmir Kulgam police busted a gang of bike lifters and burglars and recovered 19 Bikes besides other stolen goods worth lacs from them.

          According to Police spokesman that Kulgam police arrested four members of a inter district gang and recovered huge haul of stolen goods from them which include 19 Bikes.

On 15th December, a motorcycle (PULSAR) bearing registration number JK18/2594 was stolen in the jurisdiction of Police Station Yaripora. A Case FIR No: 119/2011 U/S 379-RPC was registered in Police Station Yaripora.  

          Police during investigation arrested Hilal Ahmad Pala son of Amin Pala of Reban and on his instance the stolen motorcycle was recovered. He also disclosed his involvement in various theft and burglary cases.

On his sustained questioning, he revealed that Suhail Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Ayoub Lone of Reban, Mohammad Iqbal Wagay son of Ali Mohammad Wagay of Zainapora and Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohidin Bhat of  Nunamai were a part of his gang. All of his accomplices were arrested, and on their instances recoveries were made from Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag, Pampore, Srinagar.

19 Bikes which include 12-Pulsar, 01-Apache, 01-Fazer,01-Glamour, 01-Splendor, 02-Passion, 01-Star City were recovered from different places, besides, 44 Ladies Suits,  18 Coils Electric Wires,  06 Tractor & Maruti Batteries and other Electrical Appliances were recovered from the gang.

During the course of investigation, it has been found that all the accused persons were well educated but drug addicts and have indulged in criminal activities only for fulfilling the need of 3-5 bottles of Recodex a day.

Even a Brand New Bike was sold in lieu of 50-bottles of Recodex (a codeine composition).  It also came to light that Suhail Lone S/o Ayoub Lone and Muzaffar Bhat S/o Mohidin Bhat (Owning Medical Shops and Agency) have so far sold some 40-50 thousand of bottles (Recodex) in the area and it is presumed that some 1000-persons (particularly younger generation) have fallen prey to drug addiction and it is evident from this gang that they are likely to fall prey to criminal activities to meet the demands.
