“A three member Central Team to study the Swine flu situation in Telangana”
New Delhi (GR-TYP-BIN): The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment, Mr. Bandaru Dattatraya met the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi on January 23 to find solutions for the outburst of swine flu in the state of Telangana.
In response to the request of Mr. Dattatraya, the Health Minister had deputed a three member Central Team to study the situation. In addition, the request has been made to the Union Health Minister for sanctioning special funds to improve the infrastructure in the Osmania and Gandhi Government Hospitals to deal with this situation. The Labour Minister has also requested to establish a research and virology laboratory centre in Hyderabad to reduce the response time in dealing with the swine flu disease.
Owing to the outburst of swine flu in Telangana about 20 people have died. Most of the affected people are middle aged and the disease is severe in many remote and tribal areas of Mahabub Nagar and Karimnagar and in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Districts as well.
