Srinagar,India,April 18 (Scoop News) – Expressing concern over lack of basic facilities in rural areas, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and MLA Wachi, Mehbooba Mufti today regretted that since its formation National Conference led coalition appears only on papers and at grassroots level not even a single promise has been so far implemented. She reminded that during campaign of the assembly elections, National Conference had made a number of promises with the people but these promises are yet not translated into reality.
Addressing workers meeting at Nagbal in Wachi assembly segment, Mehbooba Mufti said that PDP has pioneered an agenda of peace and development. “Both process of peace and development should be go simultaneously because accelerating development activities is impossible with out peace and tranquility”, she said and pointed out that Self Rule proposal of PDP was the only viable solution for establishing lasting peace in this region.
“Wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society have been incorporated in the Self Rule document”, she argued and asked the party workers to educate the masses about this proposal. She further said that Self-Rule proposal was aimed at making Jammu and Kashmir
self reliant state.
Reiterating resolve of her party to pursue the pro-peace agenda, she said "PDP has shown in the past that it can facilitate the resolution process with prudence, and it is ready to shoulder the responsibility of taking the process to its logical conclusion” She further reminded the workers that by facilitating the peace and reconciliation process in the region PDP had proved that its credibility in the whole sub-continent.
PDP chief demanded that irrigation facilities should be streamline so that farmers of this belt could cultivate their land in time. She further demanded that PHC should be set up at Losedhanev and Nagbal areas with deployment of adequate staff and installation of proper
infrastructure.
Expressing concern over acute scarcity of water in this belt, she demanding digging of dug wells especially in those areas where people have been facing shortage of drinking water.
