Leh, May 06 (Scoop News)- Ladakh is all set for its poll day, with the district administration fully prepared to conduct a fair, free and transparent election.
In Ladakh a total number of 1,59,631 voters will exercise their voting rights at 531 polling stations for the 4-Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency ( 47-Nubra, 48 Leh, 49 – Kargil and 50- Zanskar) to decide the fate of four candidates namely Thupstan Chhewang (BJP) , Tsering Samphel (INC), and two independent candidates, Ghulam Raza and Sayed Mohd Kazim.
A total of 1769 Election Duty Certificates (EDCs) were issued by Returning officer Simrandeep Singh to the polling parties and security personals deployed at various polling stations in the district.
As many as 252 polling personnel have been deployed to 6 hyper sensitive, 8 sensitive and 49 normal polling stations in 47- Nubra Assembly constituency and in 48- Leh Assembly Constituency as many as 844 polling staff have been deployed to 16 hyper sensitive, 53 Sensitive and 142 normal polling stations.
The Leh district has 39,812 male and 39,230 female voters, while Kargil district has 41,182 male and 39,407 female voters.
In order to ensure maximum turnout, Photo Voters slips have been distributed at people’s door steps through Booth Level Offices (BLOs).
