Ladakh’s first Urdu/Persion poetry book titled “Ibteda-e-Khayal” launched

 Leh, April 16 (Scoop News) -The first ever Urdu/Persion poetry book “Ibteda-e-Khayal” authored by Jigmet Norbu (Khayal Ladakhi) was launched and unveiled yesterday making a history in the literary field of Ladakh.

Appreciating the pioneering endeavour and success of Khayal Ladakhi, EC CA&PD and Higher Education Ghulam Abbass Abidi who was the chief guest on the launching ceremony of the book stressed on the importance of literary activities and its contribution in social building in large and Art & Culture in particular. He impressed on the fact that language and art are not bound by narrow scope of religion, caste, creed, colour, etc., and it can be used as the best medium to spread knowledge, preserve and promote art & culture and harmony in the society.

Later, the author himself recited some excerpts from his book in a poetry reading session and the wit, charm and beauty of the lines could not stop the audiences from applauding Khayal Ladakhi for his delightful poetry.   

The function was held at the Shenam Community Hall, Leh and Tsewang Paljor, Cultural Officer, eminent writer and poet Abdul Ghani Sheikh and eminent writer and poet Zain-ul-Abidin were present as the guest of honours. Besides, number of writers, scholars and poets of Ladakh and other guests attended the function.
