Leh,May 20 (Scoop News)- The Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Chering Dorje in a meeting with Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Service and Sports, R. S. Chib strongly urged for enhancing the reservation quota for Leh in engineering and medical seats so as to ensure that Leh will have required number of Doctors and Engineers in the coming years. Dorje said that Leh has been facing deficiency in technical staff, causing great difficulties as well as obstruction in the developmental process.
Dorje said that the Ice Hockey Rink in Leh is under progress at a cost of Rs: 7.71 crore and he urged the Minister to release Rs: 4.50 crore to complete the Rink as the Chief Minister,. Omer Abdullah has committed to provide the fund for the Ice Hocket Rink.
The CEC said that a DPR of 200 bedded SNM Hospital Leh at a cost of Rs: 70.00 crore has been submitted to the State Govt. two years back for clearance and he urged the Minister to clear it for funding.
He also stressed the need for extending the seat quota in Polytechnic College Leh from 30 to 40 so that more local candidates could get opportunity to get admission in the college. Moreover, Dorje also urged the Minister to conduct the main entrance test for admission to the Polytechnic College at Leh to ensure more participation of local students in the main entrance test.
The CEC extended thanks to the Ministers for their patient hearing the problems and issues of Leh district and hoped that productive results of this important meeting will come out soon.
The Executive Councilor Health, Tsering Wangchuk said in the meeting that the infrastructures and equipments for Sub District Hospital at Khaltsi and Nyoma have already came up, therefore he requested the Minister for taking necessary measures at Govt. level to create technical posts for these hospital. Wangchuk said that proposal for opening 36 Medical Sub Centers for far-flung areas of the district already submitted to the Govt. for approval and he urged the minister for granting approval for these centers to ensure medical service to the rural people.
The Minister assured to look into all the important matters on top priority.
