Lal Singh for providing medical facilities to Yatris under one roof

Anantnag, June 02 (Scoop News)-To ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2015 and to review the arrangements, a high level meeting was convened at Pahalgam today under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag (Yatra Officer), Bashir Ahmad Khan, SE Hydraulics, SE PDD, SE R&B, Chief Executive officer PDA, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam, Chief Medical officer Anantnag and other concerned officers were present at the meeting.
During the meeting various issues with regard to the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2015 were discussed threadbare. The progress made in finalizing the arrangements with regard to tents, toilets, sanitation and other arrangements was also reviewed.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, (Yatra Officer) informed the Minister about the arrangements and facilities being put in place for the smooth conduct of Yatra. He ensured that the track will be opened by 15 June 2015 and essential commodities including rice, sugar, LPG and firewood will be dumped before the commencement of the Yatra from 2 July 2015.
The Minister asked for widening of track to 12 feet as per Supreme Court guidelines and clearance of snow from the track in time-bound manner and directed the concerned departments to establish a joint control room at Pahalgam for close coordination. The Minister also directed to ensure cleaning and maintenance of all camps and disposal of garbage in a scientific way and to ensure health check-up certificate of the Yatris to be issued by the concerned medical officers.
The Minister emphasized on Health Department that no compromise should be made on health issues of the Yatris and directed ISM, Allopathic and Health Department to set-up medical aid camps under one roof at every halting station.
The Minister accompanied by Deputy Commissioner and CMO, Anantnag also visited Pahalgam Hospital and directed for providing round the clock medical facilities to the patients.
