This was stated by the Party General Secretaries Kavinder Gupta (former Mayor) and Bali Bhagat (former MLA) after their visit to Bhaderwah the most affected area in the district.
Height of neglecting the people of earth quake hit district can be gauged with the fact that inspite of visiting and consoling the affected people of the area, state Chief Minister opted to enjoy holidays out side the state.
After Interacting with some prominent citizens and senior party functionaries at Dak Banglow Bhaderwah, the BJP Gen Secretaries visited Govt Girls and Boys Hr. Sec. Schools, the newly constructed Hospital building, more than 50 residential houses and three villages, Nalthi, Sartingal and Bhalla of the Bhaderwah Block, to assess the quantum of damage caused by the tremors in the area.
Due to this destruction 26 people were hospitalized in Bhaderwah, out of them 18 persons was admitted due to shock and other 8 persons after receiving severe head and other injuries. “Govt. Girls Hr. Sec school building have suffered extensive damage. School has been closed down by the authorities after the destruction. There is immediate need to shift the school in an other Government building or to take steps to raise the alternate fabricated infra-structure in the school premises to run the classes without affecting the studies of the students. In the Bhaderwah city the most affected area is Pasri Mohalla, where several multi-story residential houses has been completely damaged and the families are putting in one tent which has been provided by the local administration.

More than 75 percent schools and residential houses have been partially damaged in Bhaderwah, Gandoh and in other parts of erstwhile Doda district.
BJP alleged that neither a single Centre or state minister visited the affected villages so far nor even any representative of civil administration bothered to visit the affected village after the destruction.
Regular aftershocks in the region have instilled fear among the people and they are fearing to live inside the houses which have suffered partial damage. Govt. has failed even to provide the required number of tents to the affected families and people are passing nights in open sky and cold.
BJP demanded that a high power central and state multi disciplinary team be constituted under central disaster management scheme and shall be deputed to the affected area to assess the quantum of loss caused due to this natural disaster.
Central Govt. should announce a comprehensive package for the rehabilitation of the affected people and for reconstruction of the damaged infra-structure in the district. On the pattern of district Leh and Kupwara, erstwhile district Doda must be brought under the National School Safety Project (NSSP). Government should adopt latest technology and take steps to construct earth quake resistant buildings in the area.
