It was a turbulent few hours for the Vélez Sarsfield coach. He was literally saying goodbye to everyone in the press and on the team.
When he met with the club’s brass, he even gave them the option to walk away and allow the club to prepare for the season. From the beginning, he was willing to assume the responsibility or take credit for the team’s perfomrance this season.
Instead, the club asked him to stay to until the end of the season. This left the club fairly out of the contest as they know that the coach that is at the helm right now will be there until late November.
Now rumors are flying around in Liniers that they will be shopping around patiently to find the "right" coach for the club. For many, all signs indicate that they will try to bring in a fan favorite.
Carlos Bianchi did mention in the past that if he were to coach against there would only be two teams that he would do it for- Boca and Vélez. Would "El Virrey" make another glorious return to one of the teams that he took to the top?
Let the soap opera begin?
