CHITRAL: District Khatib Shahi Mosque Mr Khaliq ul Zaman said that Islamic teachings must be followed in marriages so that unwanted traditions could be weeded out from the society which only brings troubles for the poor, During a one day training workshop for the Nikha Registrars/Nikha Khawan on proper documenting of Nikha forms organized by Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights (LAPH) Chitral funded by Trocaire. The workshop was held in Mulkoh, through a facilitation of KLSO Mulkoh. Chairman LAPH briefed the participants about aim and objectives cum achievement of LAPH. He said that LAPH working for Gender based discrimination free society in Chitral district. while speaking on the occasion, Moulana Bahdar said that Women should be awarded with their right of inheritance as per Quranic rule and provision of Islamic education is the basic and necessary rights of the children’s and we should focus Islamic education to our Children’s so that they can play a healthy role in the society ”. He also put emphasis on Nikah Registrars to ensure the proper filling of Nikah form and thus to protect women’s legal rights. Moulana Gulum said that Ulamas/Religious Leaders enlighten to the value of Meher because it is the main legal safeguard of women given by Islam, he also said that Nikah Khawan must fill all the columns of Nikha form. The elders of the area emphasis on the need of such awareness sessions in the area .Ulamas/Religious leaders of Mulkoh gave assurance that they will convey the message of women’s rights via religious. All the Nikah Khawns and Nikah Registrars make conformity that they will carefully read all the columns of Nikah Forms and will make sure the proper filling of the form. A large number of Nikha Khawan, Ulamas, and elders of the area attended this training workshop.
