Larry Shofe, the Head Coach of the Pilot Aquatic Club in Knoxville Tennessee, was found dead in his garage of an apparent suicide on Monday afternoon.
Larry Shofe had recently signed a four-year contract to be head swimming coach at the Pilot Aquatic Club in what he called "his dream job." However, when his wife could not get in contact with him on Monday, a friend went to the Shofe house and found him dead in his garage. Larry Shofe was sitting in his Corvette with the cover on the vehicle and a hose leading from the exhaust pipe into the driver side window.
Larry Shofe was well educated and a successful swimming coach. His family and police are surprised by the news of his death.
