Late.Benazir Bhutto’s Probe:Zardari seeks India’s support.

Pakistan’s ruling party PPP has sought India’s support for its move to demand a UN-led probe into assassination of former Premier Benazir Bhutto, saying that it would be a ‘monument in history’ if the two countries come together on a resolution in the world body.

The request for India’s support was conveyed by the PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari to visiting India’s External affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee who was in Islamabad to review the Composite Diologue process with his Pakistani counterpart, also met the country’s top political leadership.

Mr.Zardari also said in an interview that for the first time, India and Pakistan will be demanding a resolution together.

Mr.Zardari, when asked about the official response from India, also said that he had not had official confirmation but he was sympathetic to his position. However, the PPP is determined to go ahead  with its demand to seek a  UN-led probe into Bhutto’s assassination despite reservations expressed from some quarters about involving the world body in the matter.

It may be recalled that England’s Scotland Yard Police had already investigated into the late.Benazir Bhutto’s murder and also gave its findings, at the request of the then Pakistani General and President Pervez Musharaf.
