Lawari top open for light traffic.
CHITRAL: The only land route connecting Chitral to other sorts of the country had blocked at Lawari pass by snowfall on 21st of this month as a result Chitral remain disconnected from other parts of the country. As a results thousands of Chitrali and Non Chitrali people who serving here restrained on both sides of Lawari pass. They were compelled to cross the killer mountain snow bound Lawari pass by feet as so hundred of people have been died in past during this practice. Children, women, ailing people as well as sick persons were also face to cross Lawari pass by feet. Hence the National Highway Authorities started removing of snow from Lawari pass. It was re-opened for light vehicle traffic on Sunday night. Social and political circle of Chitral expressed their great pleasure on opening of Lawari pass because dwellers of Chitral were also not allowed to travel to down districts through Kunar Afghanistan.
Life normalized in Chitral after 3 days mourn.
Observing mourn of Banazir Bhutto the first female Premier of Pakistan life normalized in Chitral like other parts of the country. All markets and Bazaars open in Chitral. Hence educational institutions are close here due to winter season holidays. Government and non government offices also open and there is rush in local market due to closing for 3 days. Fresh vegetable and edible goods are very rare here. Political activities and election campaign also remain slow after killing of Benazir Bhutto as usual in other parts of the country. Nominated candidate fearing for postponement of general election 2008 after this incidence.
