Pandita is survived by his wife, son Er.Rockey Pandita and two daughters.The last rites of advocate Pandita were performed today at Bantalab Shanti Ghat attended by large number of senior members of Bar Association of Jammu, journalists, social workers, Kashmiri Pandit leaders and prominent personalities of the society.
Advocate Pandita was hospitalized briefly yesterday morning but the end came at his residence at 2:30 am today.
Advocate Pandita who originally belonged to village Chingund in Dooru area was highly regarded by the lawyers fraternity for his simple living and high thinking and was a true social worker with several organizations of lawyers, KPs, journalists and other social organizations expressing deep shock over the sad demise of the brilliant lawyer.
In a statement King C Bharati, chairman of RK Bharati Foundation while expressing shock over the death of advocate Pandita termed it a personal loss and that of the community adding the void created by the death of Pandita was difficult to be filled.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Advocate BN Pandita was an important member of the RKB Foundation while his son Rockey Pandita is the General Secretary of the Foundation as well as a columnist of The Shadow.
The Bar Association Jammu suspended its work for the day in remembrance of advocate Pandita with most of the senior members of Bar attending the last rites of advocate Pandita while Dooru Bar Association in a communication also said that it suspended the work for the day to mourn the loss of their colleague.
"KP Chamber of Commerce" group (KPCC) has also condoled the sad and sudden demise of advocate Pandita with large number of KPCC members conveying their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
JK Lawyers Forum in a statement has expressed shock over the sudden demise of BN Pandita while a condolence meeting was also held at The Shadow to pray for the peace to the departed soul and courage to the family to bear the loss.
