Former state president BJP and member national executive body Dr Nirmal Singh strongly condemned statement of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for blaming RSS in account of murder of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr Nirmal reminded Azad that after assassination of Mahatma Gandhi a commission was constituted to inquire incident. The commission had not only acquitted RSS from charges but also mentioned that those involved in killing of Gandhi had no links with RSS. He reminded Azad that RSS is nationalist organization. He said that before leveling charges on RSS, Azad should look into the history of Congress which is responsible for massacre of hundreds of innocent Sikhs in 1984. Involvement of a number of Congress leaders had been established in the 1984 riots. Instead of taking action against those leaders, Congress high command has rather given them important posts, which amounts to rub salt on the wounds of the affected families. Since 1984, the victims of riots have been demanding justice but no action has been taken so far by Congress government.
Dr Nirmal further said that Congress has always compromised with the unity and integrity of the country just for the lust of power. He said that Congress is responsible for all problems being faced by the country. He remarked that the country has been plunged into deep crises due to the misdeeds of present UPA government headed by Congress. He said that on the one hand corruption has been crossed all limits while on the other hand, prices of essential commodities have been going beyond the reach of middle class.
It is being asserted that Azad’s statement was aimed to isolate Congress from Jammu’s RSS backed area and consolidate few seats at outer reaches to local political parties, which will hurt political impact of his rival Saif—Din-Soz in the region, as it has been old tradition that leaders from Kashmir and Jammu in Congress are never cooperative to each other, political experts added.
