Peace Walk held at Chitral.
CHITRAL: On arrival of New Year 2012 Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights (LAFH) and Rural Community Development Program (RCDP) held a peace walk in Chitral. Peace walk started from Ataleeq Square passing through various roads. Bazaars and ended at front of Chitral Press Club. The members of different civil societies also joined the walk carrying banners and placards inscribing the message of maintaining peace in the world. The walk ended in front of Chitral Press club where it converted into a pubic meeting. Addressing on the occasion Engiheer Temour Shah President of RCDP said that all civil societies celebrating peace day today on 1st January and people of Chitral also want peace in the country as well as in the world. He said that through this peace walk we want to convey the message of peace to the world and appeal to never violate rights of other people because usually peace deteriorating due to violating and discrimination of others rights. Abdul Nasir president of LAFH said while addressing on the occasion said that Chitral is a peaceful district and it famous in the world for its exemplary peace but some hidden hands want to disturb its peaceful environment but we never allow them. He said that although local people of Chitral are peace lovers but some outsiders extremists from neighbor country infiltration and attack on our security forces which are condemnable. He also stressed upon the local administration to solve problem of Ayun people who came on roads protesting against cutting of forest. Professor Muhammad Dost and Professor Shamsun Nazir also appeal for maintaining peace and convey a message to the people of the world to live with peace and respect each other. A large number of representatives of different civil societies also participated in peace walk.
