Leh Celebrates 65th Republic Day

Leh, January 26, (Scoop News)- Like other parts of the country, the 65th Republic Day celebrated at Leh with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar unfurled the National Tricolour and took salute at an impressive parade at Leh Polo-ground.
Addressing the gathering at polo ground, CEC Rigzin Spalbar said that Republic Day is an occasion to fill pride for the Army, Navy and Air Force of our mighty country who guard our borders and congratulated Ladakh Scouts and ITBP personals for safeguarding the borders of Ladakh. He stressed that this occasion is a day to take commitment to serve our motherland and contribute our part of duty and responsibility for the development and progress of the nation.
Underlining the achievements of present council, CEC made a mention about the achievements and initiatives of present Council under Ladakh Vision Document 2025 and Ladakh Prospective Plan to lead Leh towards sustainable development.
Expressing immense pleasure over recently declared 10th and 12th Board Examination results of Leh district, CEC credited the collaborative endeavour of teachers, VEC members, parents, students, NGOs and public representatives for achieving encouraging results and cautioned not to remain satisfy, but work industriously in taking the results of Leh district on top of the J&K State. Talking about the recently passed resolution by Panchyat Coordination Committee, Leh in eradicating menace of corruption from Leh, CEC extended all-out support from present council in eradicating the increasing practice of corruption form Leh district and appealed every individual to be practical in fight against corruption.

Amid huge applause, LAHDC’s 2014 “Commendation Certificates” were honoured to Prof. Jamyang Gyalson in recognition of his lifelong contribution for promotion of Ladakhi Language, Shri Wangail Tsering, Junior Engineer JKPCC for his honesty and lifelong social services in Ladakah region, Mr. Mohammad Raza Rafatpa for his lifelong service in promoting traditional Sports Polo in Ladakh, Shri Tsetan Sandup, Master M/S Waris, Nubra, Smt. Rigzin Chondol, Master, M/S Skurbuchan and Shri Tundup Tashi, Teacher M/S Urgo, Durbuk for their outstanding performance and innovative skills in the field of education, Shri Tashi Yangphel, Senior Veterinary Pharmacist, Animal Husbandry Dept. Leh for his dedicated service for promotion of Cross Breed Jersy in the district, Sh. Shams-ud-Din, Senior Veterinary Pharmacist, Animal Husbandry for saving precious livestock during recent Foot & Mouth disease outbreak in Leh, Smt. Stanzin Dolkar, FMPHW, Hanu Gongma for conducting a record of sixteen deliveries, Shri Ali Hussain, BCG Technician, SDH, Diskit Nubra for saving precious lives of patients reducing infant and maternal mortality, Shri Tsewang Drojey, Junior Election Assistant, DC, Office, Leh for his untiring performance in Election Section, Shri Chewang Rinchen, Senior Assistant, District Employment, Leh for his sincerity and outstanding performance in public service and Shri Tsering Dorjey Orderly of Council Secretariat for his dedicated service .
Later, CEC distributed prizes to the positions holders in the March Past and Cultural programme. In march past Lamdon Model School, Leh bagged first position and in cultural programme M/S Skalzangling bagged first position. Cultural programme from the artists of Information, Cultural Academy, AIR, Leh was also presented on the occasion.
